Uploading items (stimuli)

With RealEye you can test 3 types of stimuli:

  • images (including screenshots),
  • videos,
  • live websites.

After clicking "New Study" you'll be asked to select your study type:

Then you need to set Study settings and, in the next step, upload your stimuli:

  • images/videos

To add images to your study you may select files from your computer or drag and drop them.

A single study can have up to 100 images (JPEG or PNG, up to 30 MB). Min. resolution of each image is 500 x 500 px and max. resolution is 15000 x 15000 px. You can upload images one by one or a few at once.

A single study can have up to 100 videos. Max file size 200 MB.

After uploading your first item, you’ll see it on the board. You can delete it if uploaded by mistake or a wrong one, change their order (on a study timeline), or, if you want, add other stimuli. To do so simply click the “Add files” button.

You can also add a screenshot of any page (see: Website testing best practices) and put it as an image to any study. You may use Full Page Screen Capture or another Chrome plugin or similar plugins for other browsers.

Then you can set Item settings.

  • live website

Add any website by pasting the starting-point URL. Then set the study time - for how long a participant can browse through your page or how much time he/she has to make your task (you can describe a task, i.e. "find contact info on this website" as an intro message while creating a study").

The main study tab (with instruction, calibration) opens your examined website in a new tab. If a participant ends the task earlier, he can click on the main study tab to end the eye-tracking part.
